2012 "end of days" Earth changes predictions
21 December 2012, the end of the world, the apocalypse, the rapture, the end time. God in my humble opinion is not a psychotic showman here to punish the wicked. Redemption from disaster in 2012 is strictly up to us. The Maya (or Mayan) prophecy is interpreted to say there will be earth changes related to weather patterns, earthquakes, tsunamis and other natural phenomenon. We are starting to see patterns emerging now with strange or extreme weather around the world. Earthquake swarms under Yellowstone and the West Coast of the US are in the news. Devastating earthquakes have been experienced recently in many other parts of the world as well. We all know of the massive Sumatra tsunami of the recent past but did you know of all the recent "little" ones throughout the planet? I hope we never become too complacent with this type of news, we need to see the patterns for ourselves and interpret them with our own God given intelligence.
An area of study that until the last few years has been given little attention is that of solar cycles. NASA reports that solar cycle 24 has begun.
You may ask, how does relate to the 2012 doomsday prophecy? It probably won't but I can guarantee you that someone (Probably a lot of people) will blow this out of proportion and sensationalize it! This statement though from Steve Hill of the Space Weather Prediction Center will give lots of meat to the 2012 doomsday "Profits" (spelled wrong on purpose).
Much of this is still years away. "Intense solar activity won't begin immediately," notes Hathaway. "Solar cycles usually take a few years to build from solar minimum (where we are now) to Solar Max, expected in 2011 or 2012." It's a slow journey, but we're on our way.

"Solar storms can disable satellites that we depend on for weather forecasts and GPS navigation," says Hathaway. Radio bursts from solar flares can directly interfere with cell phone reception while coronal mass ejections (CMEs) hitting Earth can cause electrical power outages. "The most famous example is the Quebec outage of 1989, which left some Canadians without power for as much as six days."
and this combined with The Earth, Sun, center of the Milky Way "galactic alignment" and the current discovery of the weakening of the Earths magnetic field is perfect for - made for TV sensationalism. I am not here to totally dismiss any of this as crap but once again use your God given power of discernment to filter out the lunatics. There is real science behind these events and there could be some real problems as a result. Earth Ending? I doubt it. Catastrophic, maybe, depending on where you are at at the time and how well you are prepared for emergencies. I am sure Quebec in 1989 was not a pleasant place to be for those 6 days but if you were properly geared for these unforeseen events you would have been just fine.
The preparation for events over which we have no control, is what keeps us thriving and in control of our immediate personal environment. i agree with roxana. all we can do is know it's comming and be ready, it will be the start of a new life for the planet, we have poluted and destroyed it so much, I beleive those who are switched on and have some concience about them will be in the righ place at the right itme, the others I beleive will perrish either in the events or in the aftermath. I am not worried about my safety because I beleive that I am aware and I will be prepared.

Something is undoubtedly going to happen, maybe not in 2012 it may 2011 or 2013 who knows. Eventually there will be no more humans and a new species will rule the planet. Technically speaking the world is going to end one day, but that all depends on when the sun will swallow it. I think whatever happens will be a blessing to the planet. No more technology no more pollution just pure life.

Ever since the earth came into existence it has progressed, progressed and only PROGRESSED. Our Planet came to be 4.5 Billon years ago.It has gone thru Plate shifting and massive changes approximately every 28,ooo years. And that change has been due to the the sun's solar flares and solar winds and the Magnetic pull on the Earth.

You know, we all came to life to do our mission, our own mission, to grow up, to work, to have a family, and if we are talking about The End of the World. It is not as scary as it seams, yes some of us will survive some of us won't. From my experience Strong ones survive week ones die. If you are strong enough you will survive, you have too have a strong charecteristics, and unbendable personality, never give up. This kind of person will always win. Yes not all of us have this kind of personality, but that is ment to be that way! After The End of the World, we will have a much better life, more clean and fresh all the people who suffered will live happy and with out troubels, there will be no War, no killing, no hunger, no rich or poor! It will be the most awsom life ever! It will be HEaven!
i agree with Leslie Johnson... this is not the end of the world but kinda like a video game... its a reset...we as humans may have go back to level one and start the game again...only the smartest and most prepared will survive and those will be the people who will repopulate the earth...maybe we will emerge a better race of people and maybe we will do a better job with social and governmental issues this time... I would like to first start of by saying that I've read all the comments type prior to mines. I've really enjoyed reading other earth dwelling humanoids very insightful and interesting views, opinions, and strong beliefs. It is a joyous feeling to know that mankind still holds on to the truth, the light, and the peace that constantly gives us the understanding to know that there is a greater and most-high,heavenly creator that watches, sees, and knows all that we think and dream, and most importantly believe. To say I personally know that great day of the Great Architects' return, would be wrong of me, but I can surely say that there are about to be alot of changes in our universe and Mother Earth will be one of many great changes. I believe it's that natural God given birth right to have a conscious and subconscious feeling of our surroundings, as well as, ourselves. Its not so much the world and the axis shift, planetary alignments that will cause the problems, We have been experiencing this for years and years. The problem is say there is an earthquake, That earthquake happens near a military base thats holding 20+ nuclear warheads in it. Now that will be catastrophic and a extreme problem for the world and the people in it.

Oh you guys are too much. There will be a solar maximum in 2012, 2013... yes there will be earthquakes maybe a few tsunamis like the Japan one that hit yesterday. But life will go on. In fact this latest quake is 8.9, bigger than the Indonesian one. But has not killed as many. So nothing is written in stone. We will survive and life will be much as it is today, just more advanced as technology improves into the next century.

There are these things called sunspots on the sun, they are cool spots on the sun. The number of sunspots reaches a maximum every 11 years. Earths weather may be warmer and stormier when sunspots are at their maximum. The next sunspot maximum will be in the year 2012.
I read that in a book not off of wikipedia. I believe the only things that will happen are, temperatures will be slightly warmer possibly increasing the risk of hurricanes, more storms and ice melting. We have nothing to do with the problem it's not the earths atmosphere it's the sun if anything. Don't freak out over something you can't control, it's pointless.
But most importantly: don't believe everything you see on tv or the news they are paid to say things that aren't true. Just live every day like it's your last.

honestly if the world is going to end as we know it on December 21, 2012, then it will end. It never hurts to be prepared for the "end of days" or even for some crazy event that doesn't even involve the end of the world. Having water rations, fuel and a small gas burner, being ready for anything... All would do good to have some emergancy plan set up. My family and I are working on such thing now. If God does take us to heaven at least I will know that we were ready for anything to happen and perhaps someone will come across our preperations and be able to live a little longer. I'm not afraid of what may be coming. Fear is for the weak and thus evil will triumph. I know that I have led my life according to what I have felt is right. No, I do not go to church. No, I do not pray regularly. I do, however, live with goodness and light in my heart. I feel my purpose on this Earth and I honestly don't feel my purpose to be over any time soon. Yes, major changes are happening right now in our world and it will most likely get worse, but to be ready on this plane even if it's not needed is never a bad thing. What i think is a major earthquake will happen on that day do to the earths position but it would be no different than the one that hit Japan. yes people will die but only those in the disaster area. and i also think alot of people will commit suicide and be in car wrecks trying to escape wich will scare alot of people but if u stay at home nothin should happen unless an earthquake hits ur home. nothin will happen that will end humanity, their must at least be a certain number of people on earth when jesus reigns for prophecy to come true!!! their msut be an earth to for at least the next 1000 years the length that jesus will reign. heck jesus may come back that day but humanity will not end and the earth will still be here. i think 12 21 12 will just be like a repeat of 9 11 or something. and one more thing if an asteroid was gonna hit we'd see it in the night sky by now so nothing will happen from an asteroid. i found reading these kind of terrifing! i probably will find myself making sure we have some bottled water in supply ,at least, around the date! im not convinced in any way though, that it,ll be The End. we our definatly seeing changes to our weather and its patterns, but i believe that this is due to a natural cycle, not yet witnessed or recorded, or prehaps one thats been effected by pollution.

How do people interpret "earth and sun changing" as ending? Yeah the article is absolutely correct, "lunatics." God plays not part in this, do yourself a favor dig a hole and bury yourself, the rest of us alive, including me, on dec 22, 2012 will be relieved the earth is a little less crowded.
Word says only God knows the hour and time, no human, (this includes the Mayans)will know not even Jesus himself will know. There is science to prove this "alignment" of the planets but as far as "DOOMS DAY" or the "apocalypse" doubt it, some catastrophic storms probably. Hi I have read all the comments and I agree that we are having major changes, we would be silly to think that we can abuse our planet and all the beautiful things in it and not pay a price for it. As for GOD I think we should all have a good read of the bible after all every nation has some sort of a holy book, and you will find nothing but good in it .I think from my understanding god promised NOAH that he will never destroy human kind again and he put the rainbow in the sky as a reminder and a promis. It says in the bible ( I'm not a religious person)no man, angels and not even Jesus knows the end of the world only god himself. And it says the destruction will come like a thief in the night meaning no warning. So scientists make up these hoaxes to make money and to scare people. Only god knows the end.

Personally, i dont think the world will end. Looking back on it, there was probably some big jerk Mayan who thought he was a god or something, putting a specific date on this supposedly apocalypse. Look back at 2000, and other predictions. These people knew more than the Mayans, and yet they were still off the bat. No one should put a specific date on when the world should end, and no one should believe in this balony. STOP SCARING PEOPLE. If god is pissed at the world, or for whatever reason, he'd End IT. Those 'warning signs' you guys have been talking about are NATURAL. They could happen, has happened ever since the gosh dang world was created. My only advice would be to calm your panties and stop polluting the damn earth.

The maya said a rare cosmic event would coincide with the peak of the solar activity, hell of a coincidence that the galaxy will be completely lined up and its the end of an 11 year solar cycle.
No one may be able to predict it, but if its looking you right in the face it would do good to recognize it.
